GoldBod Jewellery Rebrand Aims To Reduce Dependence on Foreign Imports – MD

In a bid to boost the local Jewellery industry, the Managing Director of GoldBod Jewellery reveals the company’s rebrand aims to increase domestic production of high-quality jewellery, reducing Ghana’s dependence on imports.

According to Gertrude Emefa Donkor, the company’s retooling and rebranding are strategic move to showcase Ghana’s rich gold heritage and promote local craftsmanship.

This she noted will provide customers with unique made-in-Ghana pieces while supporting the local economy.

She said this at the launch of an e-commerce platform which is the country’s 24-hour digital gold showroom for customers across the globe.

“We watch our precious gold leave the country while we import finished Jewellery from Dubai, India and Europe. Today, we break that cycle, today we are changing that narrative and that story forever,” she noted.

” Our company was incorporated in 2016 as PMMC Jewellery Limited. In the past few weeks however, we have initiated the process of retooling our factory, restructuring our operations and rebranding with one clear mission, that is to transform Ghanaian gold into world class products right here on Ghanaian soil and to place Ghanaian craftsmanship on the global stages beside the biggest luxuries in the world,” she revealed.

The Ghana Gold Board announced the restructuring and rebranding of its fully owned Ghanaian jewellery manufacturing company, incorporated in the year 2016.

The move aims to serve customers with authentic and exquisite locally crafted jewellery and ornaments and encourage the patronage of made-in Ghana jewellery.

With about seven showrooms located at Diamond House, East Legon, Marina Mall- Spintex, Tema, Osu, Kumasi Airport and Adum, customers can treat themselves to the finest of Ghanaian jewellery crafted by the Jewellery firm.
