Licensing

We are the sole authority with the power to license all persons engaged in gold trading and other related businesses in Ghana, such as aggregation, buying, smelting, refining, transportation, jewelry production and fabrication, among others.

The following licenses may be applied for effective July 2025

Refining License

Smelting License

Importation License

Fabrication License

Storage License

Transportation License

URGENT NOTICE ON GOLDBOD LICENSE APPLICATION

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) wishes to inform all applicants who are encountering difficulties in uploading scanned copies of certain mandatory documents to their license application forms that, they may submit their online applications without such mandatory requirements.

Applicants who submit their online applications without the full compliment of mandatory documents, shall be required to submit a copy of any such omitted document, within 30 days of the submission of their online application.

Mandatory documents covered under this special arrangement, which may be submitted to the GoldBod within 30 days of online application submission include;

  1. EPA Permit
  2. Business operating permit
  3. Tax Clearance Certificate
  4. SSNIT Clearance Certificate
  5. Police Report
