GoldBod suspends NK Benark Enterprise license, closes shops nationwide

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the license of NK Benark Enterprise, a licensed Tier 2 gold buyer, and ordered the immediate closure of all its trading shops across the country.

The suspension follows allegations of the company’s complicity in multiple gold-related offenses. According to GoldBod, these offenses have led to the arrest of the company’s sole proprietor, Bernard Nkrumah, who is now facing prosecution before the High Court.

In a compliance notice dated Tuesday September 16, 2025, GoldBod cautioned all licensed traders, miners, and members of the public to desist from engaging in any form of gold transaction with NK Benark Enterprise.

“GoldBod remains committed to enforcing the laws and regulations that govern the gold trading sector in the spirit of accountability and transparency,” the statement said.

The move, officials explained, underscores government’s determination to strengthen compliance within Ghana’s gold trading sector, protect the integrity of the market, and clamp down on illicit practices.
