The Ghana Gold Board has extended significant financial support to Judith Edinam Woseme to enable her to undergo a vital surgery at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The 13-year-old who hails from Elimina in the Central region has been grappling with a Brain Tumor since November 2025 and requires critical surgery to save her health and future well-being.
The Board, through its Special Intervention Program Unit stepped forward to cover the full costs of the surgery valued at GHS 87, 619.15

The head of the Special Intervention Program Unit of the Ghana Gold Board, Gloria Ankomah who presented a dummy cheque on behalf of the Ghana Gold Board expressed its commitment to supporting the needy and afflicted in society.
“At the Ghana Gold Board, it is our aim to provide support to the afflicted in society so when we got the request to support the girl, we realized how critical it was for our CEO. So, the Board and management decided that we support her to undergo that critical surgery, ” she noted.
The mother of Judith, Alice Woseme could not hold back her tears as she extended her heartfelt appreciation to the Ghana Gold Board for the gesture to save the life of her daughter.
“I don’t even know what to say. I am very grateful to the Ghana Gold Board for coming through for us. Where were we going to raise over eighty thousand cedis for the surgery? May God continue to help Ghana Gold Board,” she said.
On his part, the head of surgery at the Korlebu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Patrick Bankah revealed that the condition of Judith is so critical that the hospital cancels other important cases to urgently attend to her.
According to him, the amount presented by the GoldBod will cover the entire surgery and Post-Operative Care.
